As soon as you enter the house, you'll be surrounded by unique and eclectic features while maintaining the charm and character of a 130-year-old home. Built in 1890 by a well-regarded businessman by the name of Basil Robinson Holmes, you'll find the 12ft ceilings throughout, 5 original brick fireplaces, and original hardwood floors. Amidst the history, you'll enjoy all the modern amenities you'll need for a welcoming stay, such as a well-equipped and large kitchen, rainfall shower, 3 Smart TVs, and rooms large enough for everyone to enjoy the home. Outside, you'll find a spacious and private fenced yard that's perfect for entertaining, children, and pets. Whether you're grilling up a feast on the BBQ, playing lawn games with the kids, sharing stories around the fire pit, or simply relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine, you and your guests will enjoy spending time in this beautiful outdoor space.

We highly suggest our guests wear slippers during their stay as the charming original flooring, dating back to the 1890's, exhibits unique character with occasional cracks and crevices that may cause minor snags.

While our home is perfect for family gatherings and events, it is NOT a place to hold a party. If arriving after 10pm, please note there are quiet hours in the neighborhood, so please be kind and unload quietly. A minimum of a $125 fine for each of the following: Smoking of anything in the house Pet damage or extra cleaning due to pets Events or parties Damage to the house Late check out Additional requirements for pets: Bag all pet waste from yard and place in out door garbage can No pets on furniture. If you leave the house, your dog must be crated. Dogs only, no cats. By staying in the house, you are acknowledging and agreeing to our NO smoking and NO party policy. *Please do not rearrange the furniture If you do encounter a concern on the property, we require a reasonable amount of time to rectify the situation. Due to the rise in scams, our property manager will need to verify any issue in person or our cancellation policy will remain in place.

Jeffersonville, affectionately called "Jeff" by locals, is a lively destination with plenty of activities to enjoy year-round. During the summer, visitors can take advantage of the outdoor scene with events, markets, and parks galore. For a taste of local culture, Schimpffs confectionary and Union Gameyard are must-tries. Visitors can also take a stroll across the Big 4 Station Bridge, and afterward, indulge in some delicious pizza and pints at Parlour Pizza and Pints. At the top of the grassy flood wall behind the property you'll find the perfect spot to catch fireworks from a Louisville Slugger game and the best spot in Jeff to sled during a winter snow. For those in search of a wedding or event venue, Jeffersonville has several options, such as the Howard Steamboat Museum and Carriage House Event Center and The Refinery, both located just minutes away. Additionally, the upcoming Jeff Boat riverfront development is sure to be a popular destination for visitors in the future. In the fall and winter, there are still plenty of things to keep busy, such as concerts, coffeehouses, and shopping. Jeffersonville's proximity to nearby attractions such as Huber's Orchard and Winery, Lights under Louisville, events at the KFC Yum center make it a fantastic destination all year round. We were a group of 10 and stayed comfortably. We took a group of high schoolers to the national farm machinery show (4 chaperones and 6 students). It was a great experience and we would stay here again.

Great house to host our family christmas. Lots of space for entertaining and family time! This house was once owned by my great-grandparents. When my mother was born, she was brought home from the hosptial to this house by my grandparents. We didn't know that at the time of booking but discovered a few days leading up to our stay. It was magical to say the least!

Find us

We are 9 miles from the Louisville airport (SDF) and 3 miles to the KFC Yum Center and the Louisville Slugger Museum. We are located 8 miles (10-15min drive) from Churchill Downs and everything is easily accessible by car. Uber/Lyft is readily available and many things are within walking distance. There are 4 main bridges (2 are toll bridges) that cross from Indiana to Kentucky, and a walking bridge across the river for pedestrian traffic only. Prepaid toll passes can be available at the property upon request.
